Where Employers, Employees Don't See Eye to Eye
Hewitt Associates found key differences in employers' and employees' views of health coverage. The benefits consulting company surveyed 528 U.S. employees and reviewed their responses in light of information gained in another study of more than 700 companies, "Health Care Expectations: Future Strategy and Direction."
One of the key differences involves choice in health benefits: Employees want far more than employers are willing or able to give.
Hewitt says workers "are more interested in customized health plan designs, which would allow employees to tailor their health insurance coverage levels by choosing among different prescription drug options, physician office copayments, and hospital deductible levels."
